Well, it is possible by volunteering! The Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games Organizing Committee is indeed looking for people who are available, as for any major event worthy of the name, such as the next Rugby World Cup which will take place next September in the ‘Hexagon.

To collect applications, the organizers have posted the volunteer portal for Paris 2024 this Wednesday, March 22. If you are tempted, the platform for submit your application will remain open until May 3, the deadline for submission. The process takes 30 to 45 minutes: after having indicated your e-mail address and a password then your contact details (surname, first name, date of birth, city and telephone), you will simply have to fill in a questionnaire on your profile and your motivation. The Olympic Games team will then come back to you in the fall, between September and December. If your application is accepted, you will then need to sign the volunteer charter.

Anyone can apply, in France and abroad, provided they meet three conditions: be 18 years old on the 1er January 2024; speak at least French – the official language of the Olympics – or English – essential for communicating with people from all over the world – knowing that being a multilingual is a definite advantage; and, finally, be available ten days between the opening of the Athletes’ Village – the Games begin on July 26, 2024 – and the two days following the closing of the Paralympic Games – September 8, 2024.

You will have to manage on your own, knowing that the hotels are already taken by storm and that accommodation in the Paris region, already very expensive, risks becoming overpriced at this period, with tourists coming especially for the occasion. . Clearly, it is better to live in Ile de France to apply in Paris – or to have family or friends to host you free of charge… On the other hand, and if you are not paid – volunteering being considered as volunteering – you will receive a daily allowance to cover your transport and meal costs.
