Every year in May, the largest US broadcasters present their series programs for the coming TV season. Also on board is Fox, best known for animated series like The Simpsons and Family Guy, as well as the popular first responder series 9-1-1.
In total seven current Fox series stream in Germany on Disney +. As part of the upfronts, the US network is now deciding the fate of a total of 19 series. You can find them all here discontinued, extended and new Fox series for the 2023/2024 season.
The Simpsons, Family Guy & More: All Series Renewed by Fox
Among the 10 extended series so far, there are six animated series. Fox has shown great confidence in its animation portfolio, adding another two years to the future of long-running hits like The Simpsons, Bob’s Burgers and Family Guy.
An interesting feature: The two animated series Grimsburg and Krapopolis have already been extended, although neither of them have even started yet.
All series canceled or ended by Fox – one series is already saved
The popular first responder drama series 9-1-1 will no longer be native to Fox going forward. The shock of the dismissal only lasted for a brief moment. Because the series became direct rescued by ABC and renewed for a 7th season. But nothing will change for German fans: 9-1-1 will continue to be shown on Disney+.
However, the fate of the following Fox series is still unclear:
Fox has not yet made a final decision on all series. As soon as the full program is announced, we will update the information in this article.
What’s new? These are the series innovations 2023/2024 at Fox
At Fox, the classic pilot season has long been a thing of the past. For the second time in a row, the station no pilot episodes ahead of time produce for potential series. Instead, the broadcaster has scripts developed throughout the year, on the basis of which it decides whether to order a series.
These series novelties will soon expand the Fox program:

The US networks are currently facing a major challenge. The beginning of May began Hollywood writers strike. Depending on how long the strike lasts, it will have a major impact on the series and seasons that actually start in the fall. (You can read more about the script strike and the demands here).
At Fox, however, things are a little different. Much of Fox programming is made up of animated series. These have significantly longer production times than live-action series. For example, the production time for a Simpsons episode is around 6 months. Before the actual animation work begins, the scripts have long been written and the dialogues have already been recorded.
Fox has already come up with its animation program prepared in advance for the impact of the strike and, for example, the starts of the new shows Krapopolis and Grimsburg, which were actually planned for May, have been postponed to the coming TV season, as Deadline reports.
It is not yet known when and where the new series will be shown and streamed in Germany. The first port of call would be Disney+.
