Are The Simpsons and Co. renewed or canceled?

Every year in May, the largest US broadcasters present their series programming for the coming TV season. Also included is the channel FOX, which is mainly known for animated series such as The Simpsons and Family Guy, but is also home to the first responder drama 9-1-1: Lone Star.

In total Five current Fox series are streaming on Disney+ in this country. As part of the Upfronts, the US network will now decide the fate of a total of 17 Series. You can find them all here canceled, renewed and new FOX series for the 2024/2025 season.

The Simpsons, Family Guy & more: All 12 series renewed by Fox

Of the 12 series that have been renewed so far, seven are animated series. The extension of the new animated series Universal Basic Guys is surprising, as it will not premiere until fall 2024. The future of the biggest hits from FOX’s animation portfolio, however, was already secured for two years in a row at the last upfronts.

It will be exciting next year to see whether and how things continue for the long-lasting hits The Simpsons, Bob’s Burgers and Family Guy. Stream this as well as 9-1-1: Lone Star and The Great North in Germany on Disney+.

All series canceled or terminated by Fox

This year, Fox only has two cancellations. Back in October 2023, it was announced that the mockumentary series Welcome to Flatch would not be returning for further episodes. All two seasons stream in this country on the Sky streaming service WOW. The animated series Housebroken has not yet been released in Germany.

What’s new? These are the new series for 2024/2025 on Fox

A classic pilot season, in which broadcasters decide whether to order a series based on pilot episodes, has not existed at FOX for a long time. Instead, scripts are developed throughout the year, on the basis of which a series order is decided. These are the upcoming new series from FOX:

The Hollywood screenwriting and acting union strikes also had a major impact on FOX’s television programming. Only the station’s animated series were able to start during the TV season, which traditionally begins in autumn. The live-action program, however, did not return to screens until spring 2024.

Due to the numerous program changes, the new product Rescue: Hi-Surf, for example, will start in autumn 2024, even though it was commissioned over a year ago.

It is not yet known when and where the upcoming new series from FOX will be shown and streamed in Germany. In most cases, the first port of call would be Disney+.
