What are the advantages of professional immersion courses?
Knowledge of a trade
Professional immersions are very interesting for students or employees in the course of retraining. They are an excellent means of realizing in practice the targeted trade, the details of which are not always understood in theory.
Ask your questions to professionals
Thus, the trainee student will be able to ask all his questions to the collaborators who will supervise him, and attend a typical week or month of their daily life. This allows them to confirm their interest in the position, which will be valued by recruiters during future interviews.
Valuable contacts
In addition, it is a first contact with a reception structure (business or association) which could eventually end in a contract if a position is available and matches your skills.
For all the reasons mentioned above, immersion courses constitute an excellent experience with a view to integration into the labor market. Future recruiters will thus be able to see the motivation for the envisaged profession, and the candidate will be able to fully justify his affinities with the sector.
How does an immersion course take place?
The way in which the internships immersion depends greatly on the profession exercised, and the host structure. Several schemes are possible, and the internship will be very different depending on whether it is done in a hospital or in a start-up computer science.
However, broadly speaking, an immersion course revolves around the following stages:
- presentation of the intern to the teams so that he is recognized during his internship and that he explains his expectations to his future interlocutors;
- explanation of how the service works and who does what;
- discussion with several professionals over time slots of 30 minutes to 2 hours, to give the trainee an overview;
- moments of passive observation of the service in which the trainee wishes to evolve.
If his training allows it, the trainee can perform some tasks on which he will be trained beforehand. The idea of the immersion course is not to upset the routine of the service of the host structure. The trainee must be able to understand more or less independently how a typical day or week goes.
