Arab League: Return of Syria does not mean that all countries will start their relations

According to the news of Saudi Arabia’s Al Arabiya television channel, Abu Gayt made statements before the 32nd Arab League Leaders’ Summit, which will be held tomorrow in Jeddah.

Abu Gayt, “Syria’s return step to the Arab League is an effort to facilitate the Arabs’ process of finding a solution to the crisis in Syria.” said.

Regarding the relations between Arab League countries and Syria, Abu Gayt said, “Syria’s return to the Arab League does not mean that all Arab countries will restart their relations with Syria. Each country will decide in line with its own vision.” made its assessment.

Regarding the ongoing clashes between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces (HDK) since April 15, Abu Gayt said, “All parties in Sudan should respect state institutions.” used the phrases.

Emphasizing that “there should not be an armed partner in the country” except for the Sudanese army, Abu Gayt said, “The Arab League does not support one side against the other.” he said.

SYRIA’S RETURN TO THE ARAB UNION

The Arab League suspended Syria’s membership on 12 November 2011 due to the civil war.

The foreign ministers of the member states of the Union agreed on the return of Syria to the Arab League at the Arab Foreign Ministers Meeting held in Cairo, the capital of Egypt, on 7 May.

Qatar Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdurrahman Al Sani said in a statement yesterday, “We do not want to go beyond the Arab consensus on the return of Syria to the Arab League. Each country has its own decision.” he said.
