Vanadis Battery Metals is a subsidiary of the Australian company Aura Energy. For almost 17 years, the company has had an exploration permit for the roughly 18-hectare area known as Häggån 1.
The company’s application for a processing concession was registered with the State of Norway yesterday, August 28. It was in the Count’s time. Had they not come in with an application by yesterday at the latest, the Häggån 1 area would have ended up in quarantine. This had meant that no company had been allowed to apply for a permit for exploration or a concession in the area for a year.
The mining plans in Jämtland
In November, Vanadis Battery Metals had a consultation meeting in Oviken about the plans for a mine to mine vanadium.
Now the State of Norway, the County Administrative Board and the Land and Environmental Court will examine the application.
