The popular program Idol has been on TV4 since 2004 and is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. Since the start of the program, several stars have been discovered as Darin, Måns Zelmerlöw and Loreen.
Now the program is up and running and ready to find new shooting stars.

The changes in Idol 2024
Ahead of this year’s edition of Idol, the program has undergone a series of changes.
Among other things, the jury members have Kishti Tomita and Alexander Kronlund left the program and is replaced by Peg Parnevik and Ash Pournouri. As well as the presenter Pär Lernström is joined by Mauri Hermundsson.
Another big change is that the program changes its broadcast day from Fridays to Saturdays.
“We believe that Idol will develop further when the program is now renewed and becomes the autumn’s big Saturday entertainment”, comments Fredrik Arefalkchannel and content director at TV4 the change in a press release.

Cleo applied for Idol – despite the unusual illness
One of this year’s applicants is Cleo17, from Stockholm. She suffers from the rare skeletal disorder Cleidocranial Dysplasia (CCD) which affects her appearance. Because of that, she has been bullied throughout her schooling but found solace in music.
– There are many people who watch, and then they talk to their friends and laugh and film me, she says in the program.

“You’re everything Cleo!”
In her audition, Cleo sings “Wings” by the group Bird, and she wows the jury. But it is not only the jury that she manages to touch with her story and song, but also the viewers at home on the couch.
Idol has publicized her audition in an Instagram post that has sparked strong reactions. At the time of writing, the post has 369 comments and many viewers share strong feelings, love and tributes to Cleo.
