Tech giant Apple’s subcontractor Pegatron has been forced to temporarily close its factory in southern India following a fire on Sunday night. Reuters reports citing sources. The Taiwanese company canceled Monday’s first two shifts and has not yet informed employees if there will be a third shift.
In a statement to Reuters, Pegatron states that there was an incident which, however, should be under control and that it has no significant financial or operational impact on the company. Pegatron accounts for 10 percent of Apple’s iPhone production in India, according to the analysis firm Counterpoint.
