An internal investigation at Apple appears to reveal that the company has strong interest in a new product to focus on.
Apple seems to want to emphasize augmented and virtual reality in the years to come. After the semi-failure of the Vision Pro helmet, the firm launched a questionnaire for its employees to consider a new product. In this questionnaire, Apple notably asks several employees to confirm studies on the connected glasses segment.
It must be said that the market has been on a roll since the small success of the collaboration between Ray-Ban and Meta. These connected glasses may be more expensive than classic Ray-Ban frames, but they appeal to many users because of their functions which allow them to take photos, videos or listen to music.
A success that does not intend to stop there since last September, Mark Zuckerberg unveiled a new prototype of connected glasses with augmented reality: the Orion project. the latter, like the Apple Vision Pro headset, allows users to display windows and interfaces using small integrated LED projectors. A product which is, however, only at the project stage and which will still take several years to be developed.
As for Apple, this is not the first time that the company has eyed connected glasses. The firm, however, seems to be carrying out more and more studies on the subject, but it will certainly be necessary to wait many years before being able to get our hands on a version marketed to the general public.
