Apple Vision Pro Redefines Eye Contact with EyeSight Display

One of the most compelling features of the Vision Pro is undoubtedly its EyeSight display, which mirrors the visual flow of your own eyes to better connect with people in the real world; Because eye contact, whether real or virtual, is important. As iFixit discovered during its teardown, it turns out that Apple is taking advantage of the stereoscopic 3D effect to make your virtual eyes look more realistic, as opposed to the traditional flat output on its curved OLED panel.

This is achieved by stacking an expanding optical layer and a lenticular lens layer on top of the OLED display; so exposing the panel will show very odd squinted eyes. The optical structure of the added layers also explains the dimmer output of the EyeSight display.

While iFixit doesn’t need to do further analysis yet before giving the Vision Pro a repairability score, it’s already known so far that it takes a lot of heat and time to separate the front glass panel from the main body. However, the overall modular design is expected to gain some points.
