Apple to Revive Non Pro iPhones with Its New Chip

Appleis set to launch the iPhone 16 series in September. Now a rumor is suggesting that the non-Pro iPhone 16 models will also be the latest and most capable It will be powered by Apple A18 Pro says.

For those who don’t know, Apple started using Bionic processors from a generation ago in non-Pro iPhones starting with the iPhone 14 series. iPhone 15 series, also added ‘Pro’ branding on the processors for Pro models.

However, according to the latest rumor, the non-Pro iPhones will also use the latest A-series processor (likely called the A18 Pro). The news comes from someone who discovered the relevant codes behind Apple’s backend. The codes, All four iPhone 16 models will be powered by the A18 Pro processor reveals.

The A15 Bionic was capable enough to run the core features of iOS without any issues, but that’s no longer the case. iOS 18 adds Apple hardware that requires running some AI features natively on the device.

Although these features are considered basic AI features, the NPUs (Artificial Neural Network Processor) in older processors do not have enough capacity to perform these tasks. As a result, only the Pro models of the iPhone 15 series (with the A17 Pro) support Apple.

Rumors suggest that the A18 Pro will feature a more capable NPU than last year’s A17 Pro, creating a noticeable difference in AI performance between the two processors.
