Apple Threatening Statement from Elon Musk: OpenAI Integration May Bring a Ban
Musk’s harsh statement came after Apple announced its entry into the field of artificial intelligence and re-partnered with OpenAI. Under the leadership of Apple CEO Tim Cook, the tech giant introduced Apple Intelligence, an artificial intelligence integration for its devices and cloud services. In this system, OpenAI and ChatGPT are combined with Apple’s operating systems.
Musk took a harsh stance against Apple’s move and announced that all Apple products would be banned from X, Tesla, SpaceX and other companies. However, while the use of ChatGPT on Apple devices is transferred to OpenAI servers, Cook has commitments that user and profile information will be kept confidential.
Tension Between Musk and OpenAI
Elon Musk had previously criticized OpenAI and filed a lawsuit against OpenAI for breach of contract in March. “This lawsuit was filed to compel OpenAI to adhere to the Founding Agreement and return to its mission of developing AGI for the benefit of humanity,” the lawsuit said. OpenAI called this lawsuit “inconsistent” and claimed that Musk was acting in his own interests.
