Apple: the future iOS 16 would be full of references to its mixed reality headset, proof that it is coming soon?

Apple the future iOS 16 would be full of references

Apple makes no secret of its interest in augmented (and mixed) reality, through the voice of its various representatives. At the same time, rumors are multiplying about the future mixed reality (MR) headset from the Cupertino giant, a kind of first step towards very fantasized Apple Glass. A priori, the device should not be launched before the end of the year. Nevertheless, his imminent arrival seems to be confirmed.

According to Mark Gurman, a journalist very familiar with what goes on behind the scenes at Apple, the first internal betas of iOS 16 – codenamed Sydney – are full of references to MR’s helmet, and its interactions with the iPhone. .

This makes it possible to imagine that this new product will be launched during the main life cycle of iOS 16, which will officially begin next June and end with the official launch of its successor in the fall of 2023.

But, according to Mark Gurman, it could also mean that Apple would plan to show a preview of its software part before the launch of the product itself. The headset should work under its own operating system, whose name rOS has leaked a few times.

The journalist from Bloomberg also announces that, according to its sources, two new Macs should be launched in the middle of the year – at the time of WWDC? – or at the beginning of the second half of the year. One of the candidates for the announcement would be the new MacBook Air. A Mac mini, a new 24-inch iMac, as well as an update to the 13-inch MacBook Pro would also be included.
