Apple Releases Fifth Developer Beta of VisionOS

Apple has launched its fifth VisionOS developer beta with a number of changes, including access to the App Store. The fifth beta version of VisionOS can be downloaded by developers on their Macs, which serve as the development platform for Apple Vision Pro applications. Since Apple tightly controls the release of developer kits, in the vast majority of cases the beta will only be available on the Mac and not on the headset itself. Since updates usually include changes to the VisionOS simulator, developers can use the updated VisionOS within Xcode.

Apple is likely to launch more headsets in the coming months as the company wants to have the headset’s software ready to ensure a smooth launch. While many developers won’t have access to the headset, many people can try it out through Apple Vision Pro labs.
