Technology giant Apple recently introduced the M4 Pro and M4 Max processors along with the new MacBook Pro.
Apple, which introduced the M4 processor with the OLED screen iPad Pro in recent months, today stated the following about the new more powerful M4 processors: “Apple announced the M4 Pro and M4 Max today. Just like the M4, these two new chips bring much more power-efficient performance and advanced features to the Mac. All three chips are developed with industry-leading second-generation 3-nanometer technology that improves performance and power efficiency. Featuring the world’s fastest CPU cores, the M4 family CPUs deliver the best single-threaded performance in the industry and greatly accelerate multi-threaded performance. GPUs produced by improving the groundbreaking graphics architecture of the previous generation have faster cores and a ray tracing engine that is 2 times faster. With the M4 Pro and M4 Max supporting Thunderbolt 5 for the first time on the Mac, combined memory bandwidth has also been increased by up to 75 percent. With advanced machine learning (ML) accelerators in its CPUs and up to 2x faster Neural Engine compared to the previous generation, the M4 chip family delivers incredible performance in professional and AI workflows. And with these chips designed for the personal artificial intelligence system Apple Intelligence, working, communicating and expressing oneself gain a completely different dimension for users. Moreover, users do not have to compromise their privacy while doing these.”

Specifically for the M4 Pro processor, the following was stated: “M4 Pro takes the advanced technologies first introduced with M4 to the next level for researchers, developers, engineers, creative professionals and other users working with demanding workflows. The M4 Pro has a CPU that can be configured with up to 14 cores, including up to 10 performance cores and four efficiency cores. This CPU is up to 1.9x faster than the M1 Pro’s CPU and up to 2.1x faster than the latest AI-enabled computer chip. The GPU, which can be configured with up to 20 cores, delivers 2x the graphics performance of the M4 and up to 2.4x the speed of the latest AI-enabled PC chip.2 With this huge increase in performance, users can run applications at any time across multiple simulators in Xcode. can build and test faster than ever before. Moreover, the hardware-accelerated ray tracing engine of the GPU in the M4 family is now more advanced. In this way, games like Control look more interesting, and 3D rendering professionals can create eye-catching visuals in even less time.”
Specifically for the M4 Max processor, the following was stated: “M4 Max is the ideal choice for data scientists, 3D artists and composers who push the boundaries of professional workflows. It has a CPU that can be configured with up to 16 cores, including up to 12 performance cores and four efficiency cores. This CPU is up to 2.2x faster than the M1 Max’s CPU and up to 2.5x faster than the latest AI-enabled PC chip.2 The GPU, configurable with up to 40 cores, is up to 1.9x faster than the M1 Max and up to 2.5x faster than the latest AI-enabled PC chip. It offers up to 4 times faster performance than the latest AI-enabled computer chip. This way, heavy workloads such as removing noise from raw video images can be run in real time in DaVinci Resolve Studio.”
“The Apple chip has taken the Mac to an unprecedented level. Innovation continues at full speed with M4 Pro and M4 Max.” Apple’s Vice President of Hardware Technologies, Johny Srouji, continues his words as follows: “The M4 family is the most advanced chip series in the industry, featuring power-efficient performance and features with the world’s fastest CPU cores, even more powerful GPUs, and the fastest Neural Engine yet.”
