After several months late, Apple Intelligence is finally available in Europe and France. We explain how to install it and which iPhone are compatible with Apple AI.
Apple Intelligence has been at the heart of Apple’s strategy for several months. The firm tries as best they can to catch up in terms of artificial intelligence with this house solution which can also count on Chatgpt for certain requests.
It took several months of refining for the Cupertino firm managed to approve Apple Intelligence in Europe. AI is now available, but not on all iphone ! We explain how to install it and what are the available features.
Apple Intelligence is now available on your iPhone if you are located in Europe. To make it appear, your iPhone should have the latest updates and in particular the 18.4 version released in April 2025.
By going to your iPhone settings, you should find a part entitled “Apple Intelligence and Siri”. If you are a resident of the EU, this part should disappoint you since Apple Intelligence is not yet available and it is only the menu already ready for its deployment in April 2025.
To be able to use Apple Intelligence in Europe, you must first:
- Have a compatible device, namely an iPhone 15 pro / iPhone 15 pro max or a iPhone 1616 plus, 16 pro or 16 pro max.
- Have the update 18.4 or later.
- If this is not the case, then take your iPhone and open the “Settings” application and the “General”> “software update” section to put your smartphone up to date.
- Return to the settings to find a new tab called “Apple Intelligence” to activate.
To take advantage of Apple Intelligence on iPad, the method is exactly the same. However, you will have to have an iPad compatible with Apple’s IA solution and the iPados 18.4 update. The iPads compatible with Apple Intelligence are as follows:
- iPad Pro 11 ″ and 12.9 “(2021)
- 13 ″ iPad Pro M4 (2024)
- iPad Air 10.9 ″ (2022)
- iPad Air 11 and 13 ″ (2024)
- iPad mini (2024)
Unlike the iPad and the iPhone, the Mac is not considered a monopoly apparatus and regulated by the European DMA which prevents the deployment of Apple Intelligence in Europe. It was therefore easier to install the solution before his official arrival. It is now only necessary to have a Mac that can support the MacOS Sequoia 15.4 update.
Then go back to the settings and you will observe that Siri now has an Apple Intelligence option. Take the opportunity to change your language in English and you can then reach the waiting list to enjoy the artificial intelligence of the firm.
What are the Apple Intelligence features already available?
Apple Intelligence is gradually unfolding in the world. All the features announced during the September Keynote are not yet available, but it is already possible to:
- Rewrite your texts by adjusting the tone (professional, concise or friendly) or by checking grammar, the choice of words and syntax.
- Genmojis to create your own personalities emoji.
- An improved SIRI notably thanks to Chatgpt.
“Siri Apple Intelligence”
- A new “Playground” application to create images and new emoji.
- The correction of your photos with deletion of an object or an unwanted person on your cliché.
- The summary of your emails with priority by the most urgent emails. The “smart answer” option also provides suggestions for quick responses to identified emails.
- Summarizes and sorts notifications.
- Orange subscribers finally benefit from RCS messages, thus burying the good old traditional sms.
Other features for Apple Intelligence will be available in the coming months. Some are however still blocked in Europe with in particular the “iPhone Mirruring” function which allows you to use your iPhone on your Mac.
