Apple fixes bugs in Sonoma update

the latest Sonoma update suffers from very annoying bugs

Last week, Apple deployed a shaky update to macOS Sonoma for compatible Macs. Many users then reported quite disabling bugs. The issues are visibly resolved with a new update.

True to its reputation, Apple was once again able to react quickly. Last week, the Apple company offered an update for its Macs running macOS Sonoma, version 14.4. However, almost immediately afterwards, the American site macrumors, specializing in Apple news, indicated that numerous user testimonials pointed to some rather disabling inconveniences. The macOS Sonoma 14.4 update prevented the use of USB hubs or even available USB ports on some external monitors. These accessories are widely used in the Apple world since connection ports tend to become rarer, particularly on the brand’s laptops. Keyboards, mice and other USB devices connected to these devices are no longer recognized.

Disaster also for software based on Oracle’s Java language. They presented serious malfunctions with processes ending unexpectedly. The bug affected all versions of Java from Java 8 to the Development Kit (JDK) currently in version 22. The only solution offered then: reinstallation of the previous version of macOS. Practical !

macOS Sonoma bugs: a fix deployed urgently

But at Apple, we don’t joke with such important bugs. The firm’s developers therefore worked quickly so that since March 26, a new update of Sonoma, in version 14.4.1 this time, has been available for download. This is rather heavy (3.54 GB all the same) and brings the expected fixes to resolve the problems with the USB hubs and put the Java software back on track. Note that if you did not update last week, you will go directly from macOS 14.3 to macOS 14.4.1. Incidentally, the previous version of macOS (Ventura) evolves into version 13.3.6 and corrects two security vulnerabilities. We strongly invite you to proceed with this update to avoid the inconveniences of the previous version… hoping that other new glitches do not arise.
