Our colleagues from 9to5Google analyzed the latest beta version of the Apple Music app for Android, and found the following line of text in it:
Open in Apple Classic
This seems to indicate that some songs could be opened in another application, currently called Apple Classic. For the moment, we do not yet know if the manufacturer will keep this name and what will be the advantages of this new app for listening to classical music. What is certain is that Apple is preparing something.
Last August, the manufacturer acquired Primephonic, an audio streaming service specializing in classical music. It has many advantages such as the extent of its catalog, the quality of its audio files, its playlists, its expert recommendations, and its contextual information on classic works.
The manufacturer intends to exploit this potential in Apple Music, but also in a separate form, as Oliver Schusser, vice president of Apple Music, recalled:
“Together, we’re going to bring great new classical music-specific features to Apple Music, and in the near future, we’ll be delivering a dedicated experience that truly is the best in the world.” »
The new Apple Music app beta also shows an evolution in widgets for Android. The background color changes depending on the album art, and the widgets take up a bit more space to gain readability.
The Playback widget is larger, while the Recently Played titles widget has more resize options. The part that shows the latest pieces is available in 3×2 and 3×1 formats.
