Apple is developing the sixth generation iPad Air. This will be an update following the fifth-generation model released in 2022.
The sixth-generation iPad Air is expected to include a host of new features such as the M2 chipset, Thunderbolt port, a horizontally aligned front camera, and new color options.
What new features could be on the sixth-generation iPad Air?
The M2 chipset will give iPad Air similar performance and efficiency to the iPad Pro. The Thunderbolt port will give iPad Air the ability to connect external storage devices, displays, and other peripherals. A horizontally aligned front camera will make the iPad Air better for video conferencing and live streaming. New color options will give iPad Air more customization options.
What color options will the sixth generation iPad Air have?
It is not yet clear in which color options the sixth-generation iPad Air will go on sale, but considering the fifth-generation model is available in silver, space gray, blue, green and pink, it seems likely that the sixth-generation model will go on sale in similar color options. What will be the price of the sixth generation iPad Air?
The price of the sixth-gen iPad Air is yet to be announced, but considering the fifth-gen model starts at $599 in the US, we don’t expect the sixth-gen model to be in a very different price range. However, if the sixth-gen model comes with new features such as a newer processor, more storage and more advanced cameras, the price will inevitably be higher.
When is the iPad Air expected to be released?
It is not yet clear when the sixth generation iPad Air will be released. However, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the device is expected to launch in late 2023 or early 2024. Since there isn’t much time left, you’d better decide right away whether or not to buy this new device.
