Apple aims for record sales for its next iPhone 16

According to a report seen by Bloomberg, Apple is preparing massive sales for its upcoming iPhone 16.

Is Apple heading for another success with the iPhone 16? That’s what the company is preparing for, according to a report recently seen by Bloomberg. Three journalists from the site were able to discover that Apple is planning to ship 90 million units of theiPhone 16 worldwide just by 2024. With the firm’s next phone still slated for September, that would leave just four short months to achieve such a goal.

Bloomberg journalists who were able to consult the Apple report detail it in these terms: “Apple is targeting shipments of at least 90 million iPhone 16s in the latter part of the year, relying primarily on its AI services to meet demand for this new generation.”

Such a number of deliveries is obviously high. To put it into context, this represents a 10% increase compared to shipments ofiPhone 15 by the end of 2023, which amounted to approximately 81 million units.

Relying on Apple Intelligence is not a very surprising selling point. Apart from the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, only the new iPhone 16 smartphones will normally be able to use the company’s artificial intelligence.

But Apple could be up against a tough opponent: the European DMA. This set of laws and regulations could force Apple to delay the release of its artificial intelligence in EU countries. Deprived of Apple Intelligence, will the new iPhone 16 be as interesting for European consumers? We will have to wait a few more months to find out.
