Record-high electricity bills for December are now starting to be sent out. For those hoping for the proposal for a so-called electricity bill emergency, for the possibility of postponing the bills, a disappointing message came on Tuesday from the special meeting of the Riksdag’s finance committee. The government is doubtful about the Social Democrats’ proposal to help businesses and households.
– There are a number of question marks, says Daniel Liljeberg, State Secretary at the Ministry of Economic Affairs, after a meeting of the finance committee in the Riksdag.
Among other things, Daniel Liljeberg fears that the electricity bill emergency would be pointless if it were opened after the electricity price support that is on its way. He also sees administrative ambiguities, which must be sorted out.
Several residents of Scania that TV4 Nyheterna met had hoped for a different message.
