Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 throws old traditions overboard and has even announced that it will remove loadout drops from the game. Now there’s evidence that the important mechanic is in play after all – with a big change.
What are loadout drops? This is a replenishment mechanism that sets Call of Duty: Warzone apart from other Battle Royale games.
While in PUBG, Apex: Legends or Fortnite you are dependent on the weapons you find in the match, in Warzone 1 you can bring your own customized weapons into play.
The loadout drops come down twice in the game or can be purchased at one of the purchase stations on the map for a good amount of cash – but with Warzone 2.0 that should change.
Warzone 2.0 will be released on November 16th at the start of Season 1 of CoD MW2. A short overview of the Battle Royale is available in the video:
How is it going in Warzone 2.0? That’s not so sure yet. For the big unveiling event CoD: Next in September it was said that the loadout drops would disappear completely.
Even then, however, the developers indicated that this could change if there was appropriate feedback. And the community has responded – many want to see the loadout drops back in Warzone 2.0.
Lo and behold: The first leaked images from Warzone 2.0 show that the loadout drops are back in the game:
However, there is one important change. CoD insider “@TheGhostOfHope” has reported on this – the Twitter account has been bringing small leaks and opinions on CoD for years.
Hope has received the following information from the CoD environment:
Tweet translation: “The Loadout drop in Warzone 2.0 will be a free world drop. Loadouts cannot be purchased.”
These are currently still leaks. But the developer statements match the latest findings. The information is not certain, however, remains skeptical for the time being.
It currently seems possible that loadouts could also be an in-match event that does not take place in every match.
How the loadouts come into play will be seen later this week. On Wednesday (11/10) or Thursday (11/11) an event starts with selected CoD streamers who are allowed to show the first gameplay of Warzone 2.0.
How else to get weapons in Warzone 2.0? The purchase stations should play a much larger role. Here you can either buy your ready-made weapons or basic weapons, which can then be equipped with attachments in the match.
In addition, you will probably find attachments during the match as ground loot and you can equip found or purchased basic weapons with them.

Leave us a comment with your thoughts on the topic. Loadout drops were something that made Warzone 1 so special – how would you go about the personal loadouts? Delete it completely like Warzone 2 or put it in the center like in Warzone 1?
