On the Facebook page of RTV Utrecht, various reactions were received to the message that Utrecht is apologizing for their part in the slavery past. “It’s been years behind us, we have to look ahead,” someone says. “What happened then is terrible and degrading. But the descendants of the slaves then have just as much to do with the slavery past as all other people today,” says another. Or: “Stop it, nobody has experienced this!!” Then why make an apology?
