This year’s theme is Fireol Unbeaten paths. Most of the 18 performances in the woods near Drakensteyn Castle have a social theme that fits in with this. Lef was also inspired by this. Marrit: “We immediately saw a match with the idea of a threat, there is also a lot of apocalypse feeling at the moment, due to climate change for example, but also the refugee crisis. And I think the idea of, what is my place and how do i keep that or how do i maybe give it away to other people who might need it more or how can i share it that is about building new paths are we going to walk them together or alone and if so much has to change we do walk new paths. Do we like that, don’t we?”
