As one of the largest German Twitch streamers, Marcel “MontanaBlack” Eris (35) has already spent an hour or two in various games. So he also believes he can judge what makes a “real gamer” – and that obviously has nothing to do with gambling.
Where did the statement come from? In a current stream, MontanaBlack reacted to a video from his buddy Tim “KuchenTV” Heldt about the streamer Pia “Shurjoka” Scholz, who both made a fool of.
Between discussing whether Shurjoka really deserved her Player of the Year award in May 2023 and a lengthy tirade about gender, MontanaBlack caught a clip of the streamer.
The recording seems to be proof for the 35-year-old: Shurjoka can’t be a real gamer.
What makes real gamers? The clip shows that Shurjoka is on YouTube. The background of the page is bright, the so-called “white mode”.
This screen setting is perceived by some as old-fashioned: With modern OLED displays, power can be saved in dark mode and the screen also doesn’t dazzle so much when you’re gaming in a darkened gaming room or scrolling a bit in bed.
MontanaBlack grumbles: She would have the white mode in it and would call herself a gamer. His chat draws the streamer’s attention to the fact that his Twitch colleague Trymacs’ setup also shines “as brightly as the sun” – even if there is a good reason for Trymacs.
“Trymacs isn’t a gamer for me either, and you can see that in its gameplay,” explains MontanaBlack. He simply couldn’t take him seriously – at least as far as that was concerned. According to the streamer, people who use white mode are simply “sus” to him.
In addition to “sus”, one of the final candidates for the youth word 2021, MontanaBlack diligently uses another common youth word in its reaction, which many people associate with the Twitch streamer:
Twitch: MontanaBlack will say something like a candidate for the youth word 2023 is from him
