Through the really scary spider scenes, director Sébastien Vanicek’s film develops into… pure nightmare for every arachnophobic. The portrayal of the animals really starts out realistically, with each offspring they leave behind getting bigger and more monstrous.

But this escalation principle is not Spiders’ only strength – their bite is death. We get the young main characters who have to deal with everyday problems in socially disadvantaged areas believable, complex characters to see. Fortunately, Vanicek, who grew up in the banlieues himself, stays far away from boring horror cliché characters.

Spiders – Their bite is death disgusting and scary with increasingly bizarre monster spiders. But the anxiety is similarly great when police officers beat young people in order to keep them in check.

Spiders in new horror film were staged with real animals

It’s no coincidence that the animals in Vanicek’s film seem so real, especially at the beginning – they were. Speaking to The Daily Beast, the director revealed that 200 real specimens of the particularly large Huntsman spider were on set. For the later CGI versions, the team studied the real spiders extensively in order to make the movements of the artificial monsters as realistic as possible.
