(Finance) – The 2023 edition ofAnugathe largest trade fair event in the world dedicated to food, scheduled from 7 to 11 October in Cologne, will once again see Federal food take the field to promote food & beverage made in Italy and to protect it from Italian sounding. The industry food and drinks Italianwith a turnover of 182 billion in 2022, confirms itself as the second national manufacturing sector, with continuously growing exports which reached the record figure of 50 billion euros last year and which is estimated to reach 55 billion by 2023 of Euro.

In this framework, the Germany continues to represent, urged by the USA, the first outlet for our food products and therefore the presence at Anuga of Federalimentare and around 1000 Italian exhibitors confirm the absolute importance of this event for our country and at the same time the need to protect a strategic market, from crimes and episodes of unfair competition.

Precisely in the dual framework of promotion and knowledge of food made in Italy and its protection from incorrect and deceptive practices, Federalimentare in collaboration with experts INDICATEDthe Italian Association for the protection of intellectual property, for this edition, has provided a desk called “Authentic Italian Check Point” with the aim of providing, directly at the fair, initial specialist and support information on the topic of industrial and intellectual property, but also on unfair competition and Italian sounding.

“Promotion and protection of Made in Italy will be the elements that characterize Federalimentare’s presence at the fair, aware of the great responsibility that the food industry exercises towards consumers, who recognize it as a primary and fiduciary role that cannot be ignored. This responsibility must place us as sentinels towards all counterfeiting phenomena and Italian sounding which are responsible for a significant loss of turnover for our companies every year”, concluded Mascarino.
