Carolina’s Finnish goaltender Antti Raanta stretched in an incredible way in the NHL round of hockey. Mikko Rantanen (2+1) shone again as Colorado’s power man.
Carolina goaltender Antti Raanta pulled off a parade of saves in an NHL ice hockey scrimmage against Buffalo. Raanta was in shock in the third set, when he presented almost circus tricks.
Raanta bravely left his goal, when Casey Mittelstadt got through. Raanta blocked Mittelstadt’s attempt to score, but moments later made it even more impressive when Jordan Greenway was about to shoot the puck into an empty goal. Raanta threw himself tremendously and saved the Hurricanes from a setback that seemed certain.

The struggle was between the Finnish guards, when Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen fended off the Sabers with a goal. Raanta stopped the puck 20 times, while Luukkonen stopped 24 shots.
Martin Necas decided Carolina’s 3-2 victory in overtime. Sebastian Aho registered two assist points and got a power point for Necas’s deciding goal.
Tasty results for Rantanen, victory for San Jose at last
of Colorado Mikko Rantanen scored 2+1 when the Avalanche defeated New Jersey. Colorado celebrated a 6–3 victory in the match. Rantanen succeeded in the opening set with superiority and leveled the battle at 1–1. He scored his second hit into an empty net.
Rantanen is having a strong season and has already collected 17 (8+9) power points in the 11 games he has played. He is at the top of his team’s points market and in a shared ninth place in the entire league’s points market.
The badly beaten San Jose Sharks celebrated their first win of the season. The Sharks beat the Philadelphia Flyers 2–1. San Jose had lost all of its previous 11 games of the season, but now by Mikael Granlund the crew scratched out a win at last.
Tolvanen struck right away in the opening minute
Matias Maccelli and Eeli Tolvanen hit in the midfield between Arizona and Seattle. Tolvanen (1+1) took Seattle into the lead in the first minute of the match. Maccelli was also sharp already in the opening set, when he leveled the battle at 1–1.
The match was decided only in the contest for the winning goal and ended with Arizona winning 4–3.
