Russia’s war of aggression and cooperation with NATO were emphasized at the meeting of EU defense ministers held in Brussels.

BRUSSELS Among other things, the defense ministers have discussed the training of Ukrainian soldiers in Poland and Germany. The goal is to train 15,000 soldiers with EU support.
The meeting also discussed the EU’s capabilities for rapid action and the document that guides the Union’s security and defense cooperation, i.e. the strategic compass.
Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine and cooperation between the EU and NATO also came up on the agenda.
Secretary General of NATO Jens Stoltenberg attended the meeting on site in Brussels. Minister of Defense of Ukraine Would be Reznikov participated in the meeting via video connection.
Minister of Defense Antti Kaikkonen (center) represented Finland at the meeting.
