Anti personnel mines Lithuania plans to withdraw from the Ottawa

A few days after having officially leaving the Dublin Convention prohibiting submunition bombs, Lithuania announced, Tuesday, March 18, its withdrawal from the Ottawa Convention, which prohibits the use of anti-personnel mines. This decision, taken in coordination with Estonia, Latvia and Poland, aims to strengthen regional security in the face of the Russian threat. It will still have to be approved by parliaments.
