Anti-inflammatory but also digestive, relaxing… This drink made with very simple ingredients is good for your health.
You don’t know him? Straight from India, this popular drink is an ancestral Ayurvedic drink, very popular with yogis. It can be taken at breakfast, as a snack or even after dinner since it does not prevent sleep. And to prepare it, all you need is milk (vegetable or animal depending on your preferences) and spices: turmeric, black pepper, ginger and cinnamon.
► Thanks to turmericthis drink is anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and digestive. “Turmeric is hepatoprotective, but also choleretic and cholagogic (increases the secretion and emptying of bile). Anti-inflammatory, it helps fight against diffuse pain that we have in the body (joint pain, muscle pain, tendonitis, period pain, digestive pain, etc.)“, explains Manon Borderie, naturopath in Lyon.
► Thanks to ginger, spice with antibacterial, antifungal, painkilling and digestive properties, it helps digestion. Ginger helps relieve nausea, bloating, gas, constipation and prevent vomiting. Be careful all the same in case of intestinal fragility because ginger has laxative properties.
► Rich in antioxidants, ginger also stimulates the immune system, making it a valuable ally in the event of a viral infection. “Both spices are antioxidants, they contain molecules which will fight against free radicals, molecules which will create damage in the body and which can contribute to the occurrence of certain diseases“, continues our interlocutor.
► “As for the milk used, animal milk or almond milk, it allows a supply of tryptophan, an amino acid precursor of serotonin which itself participates in the secretion of melatonin, the sleep hormone. It can therefore promote falling asleep and relaxation, which does not prevent you from consuming a golden latte at any time of the day.“, adds the naturopath.
