(Finance) – “We consider 2023 as a year of consolidation of the angel investing market in Italy, especially with reference to fundamental data. The operations carried out solely by Business Angels, not including the operations carried out through equity crowdfunding campaigns, were 75 (78 in 2022) for a total of 39.3 million euros invested; investments in syndication with Venture Capital amounted to 117 (153 in 2022)”. Paolo Anselmo, president of IBAN (Italian Business Angels Networks), commenting on the 2023 research report of the Venture Capital Monitor – VeM created by AIFI (Italian Association of Private Equity, Venture Capital and Private Debt) and Liuc – Cattaneo University.
“Overall, the total of operations involving BAs is equal to 192, out of a total of 405 monitored deals – he explained – therefore, it can be highlighted that BAs are actively present in 47% of operations. One of the trends most interesting monitored concerns theincrease in the female component among Business Angels which in 2023 stood at 22%, confirming the gap of 2022 (27%) from the values of previous years (14% in 2021 and 11% in 2020 and 2019)”.
