It was just after 6pm on a Monday evening in September when a person opened fire in central Uppsala. At least three bullets entered through the shop window of a hair salon, where four people risked being hit.
According to information to SVT, the shooting is suspected to be connected to the gang environment and the shooter is said to have been hired for the assignment.
Young man in custody
Shortly after the incident, an 18-year-old man was arrested and detained a few days later on suspicion of attempted murder and aggravated weapons offences.
He is said to have admitted to the latter criminal suspicion but denied that he tried to kill someone.
– We cannot rule out more detentions. We are looking into whether this has any connection to gang conflicts, said prosecutor Andreas Nyberg in connection with the arrest, and a week later a woman in her 20s was arrested on suspicion of aiding and abetting attempted murder.
The woman was then released with the suspicions remaining.
Third person suspect
Now another woman in her 30s has been arrested in the investigation, and then released. She is suspected of aiding and abetting attempted murder.
– We suspect that she has been an enabler based on information from mobile phones. We think there may be more involved, says Andreas Nyberg.
The woman’s lawyer is tight-lipped about the suspicions.
– My principal denies any crime, that is the only thing I can say at this stage, says the person’s lawyer Henrik Jansson.
