An unidentified object spotted above Lake Huron on the US-Canada border has been shot down by US fighter jets. This was stated by an American congressman a little while ago, AFP reports.
Earlier in the evening, the airspace in the area was closed with reference to national security.
Two more aircraft have been shot down by the US and Canada in recent days. It is unclear if they were also hot air balloons like the suspected Chinese spy balloon that was shot down last week.
