Another star is already being replaced for Season 3

In a few weeks, Henry Cavill’s big Netflix farewell begins. The 3rd season of the fantasy saga The Witcher is the last for him. After his exit, the grumpy witcher Geralt of Rivia will be played by Liam Hemsworth in the future.

Henry Cavill isn’t the only star to leave The Witcher. An actor has forestalled him and left before season 3. One of Geralt’s most dangerous adversaries has therefore been recast for the third season.

The Witcher season 3 swaps villain Rience for a new cast

In the new episodes, the evil wizard Rience, known from season 2, is no longer embodied by actor Chris Fulton. This was reported by Redanian Intelligence some time ago.

The reason for Chris Fultons It’s easy to get out: he was cast in a bigger role for the 7th season of the time travel series Outlander. Since filming started almost simultaneously, Fulton was unable to return to The Witcher. The character was recast with actor Sam Woolf.

In the recently released first teaser for The Witcher Season 3, fans can already get one first look at the new Rience catch. Except for the healed scars, Rience hasn’t changed much.

The third season of The Witcher is based on the novel The time of contempt. In it, the sadistic fire magician plays only a relatively small role. Rience’s appearance in season 3 will therefore not be too extensive. This is the second Netflix production for new Rience actor Sam Woolf. He previously portrayed Queen Elizabeth’s son Prince Edward in Season 5 of The Crown.

When does The Witcher season 3 start on Netflix?

The third season of The Wither will not be released in its entirety, but in two parts. The first 5 episodes start on June 29, 2023 on Netflix.
