Another South Korean Jeju Air passenger plane also has a landing gear failure | News in brief

Jeju Air’s Boeing 737-800 returned to the airport after takeoff due to an unidentified landing gear failure.

A problem with the landing gear was also detected on Monday in another passenger plane of the South Korean Jeju Air company, reports the South Korean news agency Yonhap, which bases its information on an unnamed source.

According to news agency Yonhap, the Jeju Air plane took off from Seoul on Monday, but returned to the airport after takeoff due to an unidentified landing gear failure. The return to the Seoul field was safe.

The plane was a Boeing 737-800, i.e. the same model as the Jeju Air passenger plane that had a disastrous accident in South Korea on Sunday, whose landing gear did not work. The preliminary cause of the landing gear breakage is considered to be the plane hitting a flock of birds.

Sunday’s accident claimed the lives of 179 people. Only two people survived the accident.
