Crysencio Summerville became Leeds’ big hero when he scored 2-1 from close range in the 89th minute.
The loss was Liverpool’s first at Anfield Road since March 2021.
Liverpool is already ready for the playoffs in the Champions League, where everything is as before for the English big club.
But in the Premier League, Jürgen Klopp’s team is lining up fiasco efforts.
At home against Leeds, it started badly and ended even worse.
Already in the fourth minute, Leeds took the lead after a huge mistake. Liverpool centre-back Joe Gomez was supposed to play the ball diagonally backwards to goalkeeper Alisson, but missed badly and the pass ended up instead with Leeds striker Rodrigo, who didn’t miss an open goal.
Just ten minutes later, Mohamed Salah was able to equalise, but the quick response could not help the home team to victory.
Chances were created, but the sharpness was not there while Leeds goalkeeper Illan Meslier had a strong game.
He had just saved a header in danger from Roberto Firmino when Leeds turned the game around and could have decided in the 89th minute through Summerville.
Leeds had gone eight straight games without a win, but the three-pointer lifted the team above the relegation zone.
Liverpool, who have won just four of their first twelve games, are in ninth place, 13 points behind leaders Manchester City.
