For the second time in two weeks a safe has been stolen from a Chatham business after entry was gained by smashing through the drive-thru window.

Chatham-Kent police report they are investigating the theft of a safe from a Richmond Street business that was stolen after someone smashed through the drive-thru window overnight Friday.

Police said the safe contained approximately $6,000-$11,000 in cash and property.

Police responded to a similar call in the early morning of March 3 when intruders smashed through the drive-thru window of St. Clair business and stole safe.

The safe in this case was found nearby unopened.
