It has been claimed by fans of the series on social media that The Simpsons predicted the metaverse more than 10 years ago. Reportedly, the metaverse prediction was passed in the episode of Holidays of Futre Passed in season 23, which aired in 2011. This episode marks the first time the Lisa Simpsons gets into the “ultra net”. People appear to interact in an immersive online world in scenes that are quite similar to the virtual reality world.

A user on social media ignited the discussion, so to speak, by saying, “The Simpsons predicted the metaverse in 2011.” Other users, on the other hand, were quite convinced of this idea. Another drew attention to another dimension and wrote: “Did the Simpsons guess the metaverse or did Mark Zuckerberg steal this idea from the Simpsons?”
