Another police officer was injured on Sunday in connection with a colleague being attacked with a stabbing weapon, reports P4 Jönköping.
The police were to take care of an aggressive man who showed signs of mental illness, when the man attacked them with a stabbing weapon. One police officer, a man in his 30s, suffered life-threatening injuries.
The man could only be arrested after the other policeman shot him in the leg. But in the commotion he himself was injured in the hand by a sharp object. This appears in a notification to the Work Environment Authority, which P4 has seen.
The perpetrator is now suspected of two counts of attempted murder. The condition of the seriously injured police officer was stable on Tuesday, according to Region Östergötland where he is being treated.
