On Friday, Gabriel Bergkvist, formerly Ibrahim Fakhro, was arrested on suspicion of gross fraud. The next day, his brother Mikael Persson, formerly Nabil Fakhro, was also arrested on suspicion of aiding and abetting gross fraud.
On Sunday, the third brother could be arrested, which Sydsvenskan was the first to tellafter being detained in his absence for a couple of weeks.
– The task I have is that he came in himself, aware that the police were interested in hearing him, says chamber prosecutor Lars Morand.
He is suspected of aiding and abetting gross fraud and must be remanded in custody no later than Wednesday.
SVT revealed how the brothers bluffed with garden companies
In the summer of 2021, SVT Nyheter Skåne was able to reveal how the Fakhro brothers, who were behind Sularpsfarmen outside Lund, had started and bought up several different garden companies. With the help of lies and forged documents, they won procurements worth twelve million kronor in four Scanian municipalities.
SVT Nyheter Skåne was also able to reveal how one of the brothers who is chairman of the board of Lomma garden (now MSA Service entreprenad skötsel AB) changed its name to the previous owner’s full name – from Abd Elrahman Fakhro to Jörgen Johansson.
The brothers are also behind about 20 websites and company names that they use with fake organization numbers and addresses.
