Oulun Kärpät, who entered the autumn with heavy investments in the Ice Hockey Championship League, already suffered its sixth consecutive loss. This time, JYP lost 6–4 at home.
The last set of the match saw quick turns. JYP took the lead at the beginning of the set by Nathan Schnarr by hitting Ten minutes later, Kärpät took the lead after scoring two goals in less than a minute.
However, the hero of the match was the young JYP striker, much to the chagrin of Kärppie Jere Lassila. The 20-year-old player leveled from in front of the goal in 54:37.
A few minutes later, Lassila scored again. Lassila has managed to score important goals before.
In the previous World Youth Championships, he was responsible for a wonderful winning goal in overtime in the quarter-final match against Slovakia.
– It was that incomprehensible meltdown again. With that amount of work, they dug into the lead with about six minutes to go. Then Jere Lassila stood empty at the goal, an expert Jesse Saarinen once at the Ylen Ice Hockey Tour.
Saarinen wondered how Kärpät could lose his momentum again.
– It didn’t matter what he did if he had just defended the center. Kärpät can’t currently win games that should be won.
– Not all is well at Kärpi at the moment, Saarinen tapped.
Kärpät has conceded the most goals of all teams.
– The team is in such an imbalance. They know how to score goals, but still manage to lose. When you score four goals, you should close the hatches better.
Tappara beat Ilves 4–2 in Tampere’s third local match. The winning goal was scored by a Norwegian Philip Granath. With its win, Tappara moved up to third in the series. SaiPa and HIFK are at the top.
In other matches, Sport beat Jukurit 6–4 and KalPa Ässät 2–1. TPS beat Luko in the last match of the evening with a score of 5–4.
