Natus Vincere, represented by Aleksi Virolainen, lost the final of the major tournament in Cologne to Team Vitality 1–3.
Finnish player Alex “Alexib” Estonian represented by Natus Vincere (NaVi) finished second in the Counter Strike 2 grand tournament played in Cologne. In the final, NaVi lost to Team Vitality 1–3. Several international players play in both teams.
Titled one of the world’s best e-sports teams, NaVi played in the third final in a row.
Captain of the champion team Vitality Dan “apEX” Madesclairehas played in the final of the tournament three times and now took his first victory. The two previous losses are from 2015 and 2019.
A million dollars in prize money was distributed in the tournament. NaVi cashed in $180,000 in prize money for their silver and Vitality $400,000 for their championship.
The Estonian has played in the Ukrainian NaVi since June 2023 and won the only major tournament of his career in Copenhagen in March 2024.
Yesterday also the Finnish player who mastered the Starcraft 2 game Jonah “Serral” Military lost the world championship of the sport to a Frenchman Clement “Clem” For Desplanches 0 to 5.
