Russian-born Israeli businessman Leonid Nevzlin announced on his social media account that he plans to renounce his Russian citizenship.

GOT ISRAEL CITIZENSHIP
According to reports in the Israeli media, Nevzlin settled in Israel and received citizenship in 2003, following an investigation into the oil company Yukos, which he owned.
Nevzlin’s partner at Yukos company, Mikhail B. Khodorkovsky, was sentenced to prison in Russia for fraud, embezzlement and money laundering.
ISRAEL REFUSED TO RETURN
A court in Russia sentenced Nevzlin to prison in absentia on charges of “planning a murder”, while Israel refused to extradite Nevzlin to Russia.
After leaving Russia, Leonid Nevzlin was a member of the board of directors of many foundations and institutions in Israel and became a 25 percent shareholder of Haaretz, Israel’s leading newspaper.
