There has been some controversy about influencer AnniTheDuck in recent months. After a video by Twitch streamer Mowky, AnniTheDuck is now back with her own accusations against Mowky.
What kind of video did AnniTheDuck upload? “Enough is enough” is the title of the latest video on YouTube by Twitch streamer AnniTheDuck. It is the direct response to the “For my peace” video by her former friend Mowky.
In the new video, AnniTheDuck addresses some of Mowky’s allegations and provides her own chat histories to support her statements.
It all started with RevedTV’s statements about AnniTheDuck:
AnniTheDuck reignites discussion about allegations
What does AnniTheDuck say in her new video? The Twitch streamer begins the video by asking that private things about her should no longer be made public. She feels compelled to make this video because, according to her, Mowky is clearly lying in her video and she can prove it.
Anni also apologized again for her behavior. She now understands that her actions may have had a different intention, but were received differently by the other person. She still promised to improve.
Which allegations does Anni reject? In her statement video, Mowky claims that Anni is running a smear campaign behind her back. According to Mowky, Anni told her behind her back that she had a mental illness and was not taking the necessary medication for it.
However, Anni said that other people also knew that Mowky was no longer taking her pills. In addition, Mowky had had an outburst that had “triggered” her and she had sent a message to distance herself from Mowky. So she had not ghosted her, as Mowky described, but had simply kept her distance.
She did not conduct a smear campaign against Mowky, but merely spoke about these issues in her close circle of friends because they were of concern to her.
Anni has offered more than once to have a clarifying conversation with Mowky, including with a therapist as a mediator. Anni also says that it sounds much more like Mowky is trying to run a smear campaign against her:
Anni can refute many of Mowky’s accusations by publishing the chat histories, some of which Mowky has blacked out, in their entirety: From the context, it becomes clear that the text histories, which were intended to show how cold Anni is towards Mowky, have been edited:
Annie denies rumors that she hosted an orgy
Anni was particularly annoyed by the insinuation that she had organized some kind of sex party or orgy. It was a completely normal party where everyone kept their clothes on. Such rumors do not go down well with her Muslim family.
The consequences for AnniTheDuck
What professional consequences does Anni have to endure? Finally, Anni explained the professional consequences she had to face as a result of all the allegations. She had lost all her cooperation partners, her community had been poisoned and her successful Twitch format “Beauty and the Nerd” had been taken away from her.
In addition, an AnniTheDuck bubble tea and a music album were supposed to be released in the summer. Both projects have now been cancelled. Anni was terminated without notice by her management. Her employees have therefore lost their jobs. She currently has to take out a loan to pay her running costs.
She was rejected by three different managements – no one wants anything to do with her anymore. Anni also complains that all the negative headlines are now popping up when you google her name. She will probably never get rid of this reporting and reputational damage.
At the same time, Anni criticized Mowky’s way of expressing himself, saying that it was far too exaggerated and left too much room for interpretation.
What doesn’t appeal to Anni? Anni does not comment on some things in her new statement on YouTube. For example, she says it is far too private to continue talking about the allegations of abuse she has against Mowky.
However, she emphasizes that she found Mowky’s behavior towards a person she also knows well to be sexually abusive.
It’s not just in Germany that the YouTube and Twitch scene is currently ablaze with drama. In the USA, there are also a few cases that have caused a lot of controversy. Most recently, YouTube cut off the streamer DrDisrespect’s funding – because of 7-year-old messages on Twitch.
