Center leader Annie Lööf was the target of the crime in Almedalen earlier this summer. This is what prosecutor Henrik Olin says to TV4 Nyheterna. 33-year-old Theodor Engström is suspected of the murder of Ing-Marie Wieselgren during the Almedal Week in early July. According to the Swedish Medical Examiner’s Office, he was affected by a serious mental disorder at the time of the crime and lacked the ability to realize the consequences of his actions, according to the authority. Now, however, new information is emerging where prosecutors state that Engström was actually looking for Center leader Annie Lööf. Lööf has now been assigned a plaintiff’s attorney, she writes that herself in a statement on Facebook: I can confirm that this is the case and that I have been assigned a plaintiff’s attorney. It is clear that it is upsetting and that it affects me. But hate must not win. Silvia Ingolfsdottir Åkermark confirms to TV4 Nyheterna that it is she who has been appointed as plaintiff’s counsel, but otherwise does not want to comment on anything. See more in the player above
