She composes chamber music, works for orchestra, piano and children’s choirs, operas and much more. Due to this waterfall of compositions and her commitment to the music world, Anne-Maartje is now Composer Laureate and wants to give music education a new impetus. “I think it’s really fantastic. It is of course a huge honor to be able to wear that title. What has supported me the most and also a bit surprised is that the story I have been telling for 10 years is suddenly heard so widely. So make sure that We don’t train children just with: this is how you should hold your instrument, these are the notes, this is what you will play. But that we can continue to develop the creativity that we all have from an early age.”
