Anne L’Huillier snuck off in the middle of today’s seminar to hook up at a press conference.

When she returned, she had been awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics.

– It was an incredibly happy atmosphere, says student Aron Allen.

French-Swedish researcher Anne L’Huillier was having a normal day at work when the news came. In the middle of a seminar, she needed to sneak away.

– It was very strange, but very very nice, says Aron Allen.

The atmosphere at the lecture was edgy. According to student Aron, you could already feel it in the air ahead.

When she came back it was hard to focus for the last hour.

– Everyone was so proud of her. It was an extra big deal because she will be the one brought to the university to win the Nobel Prize. Those of us who study technical physics have this prize close to our hearts, too. Cool that it was just her and during the lecture, says Aron Allen.
