Anna Wijk’s beautiful tears in Master of Masters go straight through the TV screen and into the hearts of all Swedes: “I’m so moved”

She is one of Swedish floorball’s biggest icons.
But it got really emotional for Anna Wijk, who cried after her tribute film.
– It was “wow”, so many emotions, says Tony Rickardsson about the wonderful moment.

The celebrated SVT program “Master of Masters” has reached its fourth episode of the new season. And one who has not taken such a big place so far is the former floorball player Anna Wijk but on Sunday night she had all the attention directed at her.

Anna Wijk’s greatness

When it was time to show her tribute film, the presenter picked Mike Leijnegard put forward their finest superlatives to pay tribute to a true, Swedish giant.
– Tony and Anja have been the best in the world in their sports, but as far as I know, we have never had a four-time world champion before. This must be some kind of record. Anna Wijk has been named the world’s best floorball player four times, he says in SVT.
– A passing genius and a decisive player in a championship context. When she put her shoes on the shelf, she could boast six WC golds, one SC gold and a total of eleven SC medals. One of the world’s best floorball players of all time. And maybe she’s even the world’s best ever.

Next, we get an insight into Wijk’s amazing career, from how it all started as a small child when she was forced to play with boys, to her first A-team contract as a 16-year-old and finally the biggest moment of her career. For the 32-year-old, the perfect fairy-tale ending came when she lifted the WC gold trophy in her very last international match.
– Sick! Finish on top, so fantastic, says one of the participants during the tribute film.
– It is one of the finest experiences I have had in my career. I feel so happy and proud to have been able to represent my country for such a long time and to finish in such a nice way, says a concerned Anna Wijk.

Beautiful tears in SVT

The nice tribute film about the floorball giant’s successful career really impresses all the other participants.
– So cool to be able to join her career. As extremely successful as she has been, says Tony Rickardsson in SVT.
– It’s cool to be able to sit and hear how it was in the fine room. Anna is truly one of the greatest we’ve had on the women’s side. For me, she is the definition of floorball. She carried the whole of Sweden on her shoulders and I think there are many who have her to thank for their careers, says Anja Pärson.

– We understand that, answer the other participants.
– The coolest thing today was that I don’t think she has reflected on how successful and how dominant she has been. But at the end it sunk in and it was “wow”, so many emotions, says Tony Rickardsson.
