It was a great success for Anna Magnusson in Friday’s sprint in Annecy, France.
The 27-year-old was responsible for a super race and took home his first career victory.
– I am shocked and moved, says Magnusson after the resounding victory.
The major focus was on Hanna Öberg and Elvira Öberg in Friday’s sprint in Annecy, France. But when things didn’t quite go their way for the sisters, they stepped in instead Anna Magnusson and Lynn Persson forward. Magnusson was responsible for a super shock when she took home the victory ahead of Persson, Magnusson’s first ever career victory.
Big success
And not entirely unexpectedly, it was an emotional Anna Magnusson who described the feelings after the finish.
– I am quite shocked and a little moved. I didn’t think this, but I’ve had a good start to the season and it’s been going in the right direction. But I really didn’t think it would be this good, says a teary-eyed Magnusson to SVT.

After shooting full, she went out as the leader after the second shot, and then it was nervous.
– I actually had time to see that I was leading before the last lap, I had time to get a little nervous then. I wanted to throw up almost from the start on the last lap, I wasn’t feeling well. Very tough, but it turned out great in the end anyway. It means a lot, it feels like I’m in the game, she says.

“Suddenly it happens”
Anna Magnusson also describes how self-confidence has been a bit up and down since she joined the team.
– I had good self-confidence when I joined the team later, but then there were a couple of hits and I started to have doubts. They are something I have had to work with, but it feels very good that it went so well. Suddenly it happens, and I didn’t think I would get to be a part of this.
– I thought I tried to go out controlled and then I tried to focus on the shooting, I’m very pleased that I put everyone in the standings above all. I managed to get a little nervous, I tried to focus from shot to shot.
